50th birthday - still going

well my birthday looks like it could take 3-6 months to actually finalise the celebrations. i am not complaining. thank you sue.

on Friday we enjoyed a great meal and night at the Loose Box (its not what you think - but i am sure it is often what you think). initially it was a restaurant in a "stables". while it is no longer so, many people eat hay i am sure.

sue had friday off (sort of) and she picked me up from work at 2:30. we drove to Mundaring (its on the outskirts of town) and after doing some administrative chores (submitting passport forms) we signed in.

we had a bottle of champagne, some fine cheese and a bottle of red while we talked about our impending migration to the UK.

the setting was wonderful, the company was fantastic and the wine and cheese were exquisite.

then we had dinner (i kid you not). which was a joy. the degustation menu with associated wines was excellent and well worth the journey and the money. Go ahead - treat yourself you wont be disappointed.

following dinner we watched tv, drank a little more wine and slept.

check out was late so around 10:00am we got up and had breakfast. this was a basket of fresh fruit, croissants, a quiche, some brioche and juice. We skipped coffee and drove back to town.

another fine event in the 50th birthday calendar.

All that remains to do now is buy a book (s) with a voucher and arrange to drive really fast around a race track in a very fast car.

life is tough in Dullsville but someone's got to do it and it might as well be us
